The Children’s Home Society makes a difference by redirecting troubled teenagers toward future real responsibilities, transforming addicted mothers and fathers into productive parents, and providing a safe harbor for abused toddlers.
Service Opportunities
Projects include reading to children, swinging toddlers on the playground, providing birthday parties for the children, and donating toys for the holidays. Other opportunities include fixing bicycles that have been used extensively and are in need of repair, washing windows, and pressure washing the patios of the Crisis Nursery.

New Hope for Kids
New Hope’s purpose is to bring hope, healing and happiness to children and families suffering from grief, loss, or life-threatening illnesses.
Service Opportunities
Projects include office support, becoming a grief facilitator (working with child support groups at the Center for Grieving Children), a wish granting assistant, a grief center assistant, or a special family events helper.

Service Opportunities
Projects include building maintenance, such as pressure washing, washing windows and cleaning carpets. Other opportunities include praying and building relationships with children, acting out stories, and creating puppet shows.

Helping Hands
Helping Hands is a branch of the OBT Development Board that does owner-occupied housing renovation projects for homeowners in the Holden Heights community.
Service Opportunities
Projects include interior or exterior painting, general construction, landscaping, and assistance with all the stages of a housing renovation.

Projects are generally held on Saturdays in the spring and fall; 3-5 hours per project.

They offer a 24-hour crisis hotline, shelter, counseling, legal advocacy, and other services to thousands of people. This organization is the leading authority on domestic violence in Central Florida.
Service Opportunities
Projects include becoming a shelter advocate, support group facilitator, court advocate or childcare helper. Also needed: help with clerical work, shelter maintenance, fundraising events, painting, landscaping or providing activities for children.

House of Hope’s mission is to rescue hurting teenagers from drugs, child abuse, and the exploitation of themselves and their families.
Service Opportunities
Projects include teaching home economics (invest your knowledge of household skills into the lives of teens who would benefit from this type of practical instruction); playing sports (basketball or volleyball with teenagers who want some friendly competition and need someone to share with them both friendship and the hope of the gospel).
