HOW SUMMIT BUDGETS

Summit’s budgeting process can be summed up in one question: “What does faithfulness look like?” We begin with the assumption that our partners and regular attendees will give faithfully, and that’s how we calculate our budget…in that order. Although it would perhaps seem more logical (and, indeed, less frightening) to create our budget first based on economic trends and the bare minimum of what we need to function, we believe we are called to nothing less than radical faith that God will show up and that people will be faithful.

We then move from, “What does faithfulness look like?” to the prayerful consideration of how we can best use each dollar to accomplish the work of the various ministries to which God has called this entire congregation.
