WHAT WE GIVE

Summit is committed to living out what we teach, and this is no less true of how we treat money. We would never ask any member of the congregation to do that which we are not willing to live out ourselves, both in our personal acts of tithing and giving, and as a corporate entity.

Summit has committed to giving away 15% of all tithes as soon as the money comes in, and before it has the opportunity to go elsewhere. This giving takes many forms, including (but not limited to) regular support of missionaries, organizations, church plants and individual gifts of benevolence.

We choose to make specific gifts for a variety of reasons. We give as an expression of mercy for both our local and global community. We give to invest in other agents of change as our vision align. We give to promote justice for those afflicted by disease, hunger, and poverty, against which they have no means to defend themselves. And sometimes we give as nothing more than an act of extravagant love – the same love which we have never deserved, but receive all the same a the hands of our Savior. This we do in faith that God will continue to provide all the resources we need, if we continue to be faithful in living out the ministry to which he has called us. We take joy in the opportunity to be a vessel of financial support for others who are about the business of doing God’s work.
