This month, we are taking you behind the scenes of Esther: A Musical Adventure!
That's right—we're pulling back the curtain to give you an inside look at Base Camp's newest musical. The story of Esther is all about how God is up to something, and we can choose to be a part of it. It has everything a great story needs: Secrets! Suspense! Comedy! Drama!
In this first part of our series, you'll find out why we decided to turn the book of Esther into a musical. You'll also meet the four lead actors of the show. They'll introduce you to their characters and give you some fun facts about them. There's Esther, a Jewish girl who reluctantly became queen of Persia; Mordecai, Esther's cousin and resident spy; Xerxes, the king of Persia and… amateur magician? (we'll explain!); and of course—because every story needs a foil—the villainous Haman.
But wait… there's actually a fifth character whose name is never mentioned in the book of Esther. Can you guess who it might be? You'll have to watch to see if you're correct!

This month, we are taking you behind the scenes of Esther: A Musical Adventure! The story of Esther is all about how God is up to something, and we can choose to be a part of it.
In this second part of our series, the actors walk us through the main conflict of the book of Esther. At the heart of the conflict is a feud between Haman and Mordecai that goes back hundreds of years. Haman grows so bitter that he comes up with a scheme to kill all the Jewish people. With King’s Xerxes help, he sets the evil plan in motion! Meanwhile, Mordecai realizes Queen Esther is the only person with the power to save the Jews. But the decision to get involved could cost Esther everything... What will she choose to do?!
We’ll also hear a preview of the songs “Bad News Buddy” and “Something’s Going On Here” and get the actors’ take on what’s happening in the story. You don’t want to miss this behind-the-scenes look at all the exciting plot twists in Esther: A Musical Adventure!

This month, we are taking you behind the scenes of Esther: A Musical Adventure! The story of Esther is all about how God is up to something, and we can choose to be a part of it.
We hope you got some yummy snacks at intermission because it's time to see what happens when the curtain rises on Act 2 of our show! In this third part of our series, we get a peek at the musical's funniest moment. King Xerxes wants to honor an awesome man in the kingdom and asks Haman for some ideas. Haman has such a big ego that he thinks he's the man the King wants to celebrate... Can you guess who it really is?
Meanwhile, Queen Esther is getting ready for the big banquet, but things aren't going according to plan. Esther grows frustrated, and it leads to a showdown between her and God! What will Esther decide to do?
We'll also hear a preview of the songs "The Man You Think is Awesome" and "I'm Saying Goodbye" and get the actors' take on their characters. Oh, AND we'll learn a secret technique for getting your parents to buy you a pony. (Hint: It involves ice cream!) It's all coming up as we continue our behind-the-scenes look at Esther: A Musical Adventure!

This month, we are taking you behind the scenes of Esther: A Musical Adventure! The story of Esther is all about how God is up to something, and we can choose to be a part of it.
In this fourth and final part of our series, we get a peek at the musical's dramatic conclusion. The curtain rises on the royal banquet hall. Queen Esther, King Xerxes, and Haman are all seated for dinner. The stage is set for Esther's big moment. What will happen when she reveals her true identity and asks the King to save the Jewish people?
Meanwhile, Mordecai faces a discouraging moment when he learns King Xerxes doesn't have the power to cancel Haman's wicked decree. It looks like all the work Mordecai and Esther did was for nothing. But now it's Esther's turn to remind Mordecai that God is up to something. Will Mordecai choose to be part of it?
We'll also hear a preview of the songs "Bad News Honey" and "Something's Going On Here (Reprise)" and get some final words from the actors about the show. We'll learn why Esther's story is important to followers of Jesus and how the events of her life are still celebrated every year through the festival of Purim. You won't want to miss the amazing finale of Esther: A Musical Adventure!
