For our new series we’re headed to the place where all epic adventures begin... the LIBRARY. Join the Librarian and Dave as they set out to answer one of life’s biggest questions, “Who is Jesus?” God’s Word is powerful and true, whether you’re reading from a dusty scroll, a leather-bound book, or a holographic library archive.

For our new series we’re headed to the place where all epic adventures begin... the LIBRARY. Join the Librarian and Dave as they set out to answer one of life’s biggest questions, “Who is Jesus?” God’s Word is powerful and true, whether you’re reading from a dusty scroll, a leather-bound book, or a holographic library archive (What can we say? She’s not your grandma’s librarian…), so where better to start than with the words Jesus spoke about himself? Metaphors, miracles, and mysteries await in this week’s Library storytime!

Who is Jesus? | Week 2 | September 13, 2020

Join the Librarian and Dave for another story time adventure! This week, they’re on a mission to discover what Jesus meant when he said “I am the bread of life.” Is Jesus literally a loaf of bread? Did Jesus literally feed 5,000 people? Can the Librarian literally eat a whole elephant? We’ll find these answers and much more as we learn that we can always go to Jesus because he provides for us.

Who is Jesus? | Week 3 | September 20, 2020

Who’s ready for another epic library story time? Join the Librarian and Dave as they delve into what Jesus meant when he said, “I am the light of the world.” This week, the Librarian uses her digital catalogue to bring us the story of a reporter determined to get to the bottom of a muddy miracle. We’ll learn answers to questions like: What did Jesus actually look like? Does he glow in the dark? And what’s the difference between being “blind” and being blind? It’s sure to be a marvelous metaphorical adventure as we learn that we can always go to Jesus to show us how to live.

Who is Jesus? | Week 4 | September 27, 2020

All month long we’ve been learning that we can always go to Jesus! This week, the Librarian and Dave set out to discover what Jesus meant when he said “I am the gate for the sheep.”  Through her digital catalogue, the librarian brings us a tale told by everyone’s favorite farmer and his sheepish sidekick. We’ll learn answers to questions like: How do you pronounce anthropomorphism? What did Jerusalem look like? And how can we experience God’s goodness? It’s sure to be another spectacular story time as we learn more about who Jesus is and the relationship he invites us to have with him.

Who is Jesus? | Week 5 | October 4, 2020

The adventure continues with the Librarian and Dave as they answer the question: Who is Jesus? This week, they’re diving into what Jesus meant when he said “I am the good shepherd.” From her digital catalogue, the librarian brings us a deeply dramatic retelling of when Peter walked on water. We’ll learn answers to questions like: Who actually likes mayo and pickle sandwiches? How many disciples can you fit in a tiny boat? And how does Jesus respond to our fear? In this marvelous metaphorical story time, we’ll learn that we can always go to Jesus when we’re afraid.

Who is Jesus? | Week 6 | October 11, 2020

Join the Librarian and Dave for another epic story time! This week, Dave tries to get into the Spirit of what Jesus meant when he said, “I am the vine,” and the Librarian enlists the help of an expert! Through her digital catalogue, we’ll cook along with Chef Alejandro and learn what the Fruit of the Spirit is all about. Come discover answers to questions like: Can you re-attached a fallen branch to a tree? What’s Alejandro’s favorite fruit? And how does the Fruit of the Spirit grow in our lives? Analogies and culinary concoctions abound in this astounding story time adventure, where we’ll learn that we can always go to Jesus to help us grow. Who’s ready for another story time adventure? This week, Dave and the Librarian are back to discover what Jesus meant when he said, “I am the way.” While Dave struggles to decide on a costume, the Librarian’s archive comes to the rescue to help us understand this moody metaphor. We’ll find answers to questions like: How do you get to Disney world? Will the bailiff ever get his missing apple pie? And where can we go when we don’t know which way to go? We hope your whole family will join in the fun during this dramatic storytime, where we’ll learn that we can always go to Jesus when we don’t know what to do.
